2016 Australian Open Betting Update

We are well underway in the 2016 Australian Open with a number of top competitiors in the mix in both the Men’s and Women’s Singles Divisisions. A couple of interesting fixtures have already unfolded and you can bank on things getting even more interesting as we get closer to the quarter-final play-off stages as each day goes by.

Right now, Novak Djokovic is grabbing a lot of attention in the men’s division and you can find him as short as a 1/2 price tag right now to get the big result and start 2016 off with another major championship. The Serbian sensation has plenty of opportunity to do so but he is going to face some stiff competition from his opposition here.

Andy Murray is priced anywhere from 4/1 to 6/1 for the Australian Open title and he has a lot of opportunity to make a big statement if he starts picking up steam at just the right time. He is no stranger to success in major championships and he has every chance here though the 6/1 is probably a lot more reflective of his chances than the 4/1 price on offer.

Roger Federer has put together some really good stuff so far and disposed of his last opponent with relative ease. You can find him now anywhere frm a 7/1 margin to a 9/1 margin, depending on whom you’re wagering with. Stan Wawrinka is also very much in the mix here with a 9/1 price tag at most bookmakers but a few offering up 10/1. The odds then take a big jump to Milos Raonic at a 50/1 margin.

The Women’s Australian Open tournament has Serena Williams listed as the betting favourite right now but Victoria Azarenka is trading at a 9/4 margin and looking like she could offer up some very serious competition for the American favourite. Expect some big performances in the women’s tourmament and a few upstart contenders getting into the mix.

Maria Sharapova is only trading at a 12/1 margin right now to pull off a victory in the Women’s Division but Agnieszka Radwanska is priced shorter than her at an 8/1 margin right now - this shows off the type of good form she’s in right now. Madison Keys can be backed at 25/1.
