Horseracing betting: Betfair add Tote products

Betfair customers will be able to bet on Tote products with a single click of a mouse from Monday. The product has been created in partnership with the UK Tote and is one of a number of new Betfair services to be launched in the run up to the Cheltenham Festival which starts on March 11.

This new application will enable Betfair customers to access all the Tote's multi-leg markets - the Jackpot, Placepot, Quadpot and the famous 'Scoop 6' – as well as Race Exactas and Trifectas, using their existing Betfair account.

Mark Davies, Managing Director of Betfair says; "This is great news for customers and for racing. It strengthens the offering of both brands, giving greater choice to racing punters, and it should improve racing turnover, which ultimately generates more revenue for the industry as a whole."

David Craven, Managing Director of totepool, says; "We are delighted to welcome Betfair to the Tote Direct Stable. The more places that people can access tote products, the bigger the pools and, in turn, the bigger the dividends for customers."

Alex Deacon, Betfair's Sports Product Manager said; "We've kept it straightforward and easy to use, so fans of the Tote will feel perfectly at home. It's a minimum £2 stake and customers will receive Betfair points when they use it. This is just the start and we'll be integrating more Tote products when they come online."

It's the latest in a string of product improvements by Betfair. The new Betfair Starting Price is now available on all UK and Ireland 'Win' and 'Place' markets, and last week's launch of the new Horseracing Home Page now gives customers easy access to the day's markets, results, form and latest news all in time for the Cheltenham Festival.
