Admittedly the blogger known as The Betfair Trader only trades on the site part-time and does regularly mention that he has a proper job. But it doesn’t change the fact that using a low risk approach he’s turned £1,000 into over £25,000 in around a year!

The blogger is saving all his profit to pay for his wedding later this year. He updates most days detailing both his wins and losses, explaining where he did well and what mistakes he made. From the looks of it he’s going to have one hell of a honeymoon.

What we really like about the betfair blog though is the insight it gives to what a successful sports trader does. Issues such as attitude to risk, stop losses and money management are all covered in detail.

While the trader also discusses questions raised by readers, will sometimes explain how he traded a sports event and why – and even provides some basic trading strategies and the odd tip!
