ENGLAND have been installed as favourites to win the 2008 European Championships following this morning's draw in Montreux.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes rate the Three Lions at 5/1, ahead of Holland at 6/1 and Italy and Germany at 7/1.
The team, who have been paired with Croatia, Russia, Israel, Estonia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Andorra in Group E will have a new manager by the time they begin qualification.
And Bolton's Sam Allardyce remains the 5/2 favourite to succeed the Swede at Soho Square.
Walter Smith's Scotland are 200/1 to lift the trophy, with Wales and Northern Ireland both considered 250/1 shots.
Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "It remains to be seen what England will do in this summer's World Cup - but they have what it takes to win Euro 2008.
"Had it not been for Wayne Rooney's injury in Portugal they may well have gone on to win Euro 2004.
"He and the new crop of talented youngsters emerging in the English game will be desperate to make amends."
Reigning champions Greece 40/1 to repeat their success in Portugal, with the beaten finalists 16/1.
