European Tour

The European Tour is home to the best players in Europe and during Ryder Cup years is also the means by which players earn points to qualify for the Cup team by playing in European Tour events. The European Tour runs two other tours outside of the main one, with the Seniors and the Challenge Tour. From 2009 the Order of Merit, the race to be the European Tour's best golfer, won in 2007 by Justin Rose, will be replaced by the Race to Dubai. Rose topped the Order of Merit with a prze fund of 2.9m Euros, won from the minimum of 12 events that are need to qualify for the prize.The 2008 Tour schedule started in November 2007 and stretches all the way through to the Volvo Masters in Spain which finish on November 2nd 2008.
