Numbers rebounded from last week’s dismal showing online. Most sites saw a marked improvement. At PokerStars, they held their monthly $500 Sunday Million Tournament. 2,768 players entered the event which drove the prize pool up to a hefty $1,384,400. Gary “GB2005” Bogdanski made the final table again this week. He’s a pro even if he doesn’t like to refer to himself as such. GB2005 scored big at the Full Tilt Online Poker Series II – he was the tournament leaderboard winner. He also won close to $80k in the Full Tilt Poker Weekly $350,000 event a while back.
westmenloAA, the eventual winner of this event, had the chip lead going in. He was followed closely by the fourth-place finisher, mylo. frankie810 had the distinction of being the first player out when his Ah,9c found no love from the board. westmenloAA kicked him to the curb with his pocket tens.
Blom21 couldn’t improve with his Kh,Js, and the mighty pocket sevens of aboli70 earned the second KO of the final table. However, it’s important to mention that the second elimination occurred about half an hour after the first which is a seriously long time on the ‘net.
DoctorIn2010 raised all-in preflop with his remaining 1.9 million with a Ks,Qc. He found himself up against it because GB2005 called and flipped over the dominant, Ad,Kd. The doc caught two pair, but GB2005 completed an ace-high straight, aka Broadway, for the win. Doc hit the rails in seventh with $30,171.
dominospizza lost to aboli70 when both blokes paired their aces, but aboli’s jack kicker played. westmenloAA took out both mylo and aboli70 with pocket tens. Both players called all-in and flipped up identical starting hands of A,K. Afterwards, GB2005 bid adieu to the final table. His fourth-place finish gave him $85,669.60 – the biggest single online cash of his career so far.
maxout12, who expertly nursed his short stack throughout much of the final table, only lasted one anti-climactic hand heads-up.
Here are the final results:
1) westmenloAA - $254,517.60
2) maxout12 - $129,404
3) Gary “GB2005” Bogdanski - $85,669.60
4) mylo - $70,584
5) aboli70 - $56,744
6) dominospizza - $42,904
7) DoctorIn2010 - $30,171.20
8) Blom21 - $19,099.20
9) frankie810 - $11,072
Full Tilt lowered its guarantee from $350,000 to $300,000 to combat the low attendance of the previous week. They needn’t have worried ‘cuz 2,115 players plunked down their cash to play. This drove up the prize pool to an impressive $423,000. 306 players made bank and first place took home a whopping $77,832.
GDSC started out the final table in first place with 1.1 million in chips. phat_cat1, aka internet pro Shawn Luman, was eliminated in ninth place when he pushed all-in with his Kh,10h. Algator called and flipped over pocket tens. The board didn’t help the phat_cat1, so he took his $5,922 and ran off to lick his wounds.
RASZi and motnahp went out in quick succession. On the next hand, Temaki rivered a straight against flipflopdoc. GDSC then bumped Algator from the table with his pocket nines. muckthenuts exited in fourth, followed shortly afterwards by Temaki who faced top pair against GDSC’s top two pair. Ouch!
Heads-up play began with GDSC holding the clear advantage at 4:1. However, that would not last. After doubling through once, Klovnen repeated the feat with pocket cowboys. 40 hands later, Klovnen emerged victorious from this epic online battle.
Here are the final table results:
1) Klovnen - $77,832
2) GDSC - $47,799
3) Temaki - $31,302
4) muckthenuts - $24,957
5) Algator - $19,035
6) flipflopdoc - $13,620.60
7) motnahp - $9,940.50
8) RaSZi - $7,825.50
9) Shawn “phat_cat1” Luman - $5,922
Party Poker topped its $200,000 Guarantee quite easily. The site saw 1,313 people enter their weekly event which swelled the prize pool to over $260k. mirumir and keyswin led the pack going into the final table. Ichan111 hit the rails in ninth place after manumilitari made a set of kings. JAMS888 said konichwa next when his Aces and Queens ran into keyswin’s straight that was almost a royal flush.
keyswin kept knocking people out. He sent two home with pocket aces. Whoa! By the time they were down to the final five, keyswin’s rush was over in a big way. Each of the other remaining players doubled through him and knocked him down to size. Around the same time, the five remaining combatants discussed and agreed on a chop based on chip counts which left mirumir the winner.
Here are the final results:
1) mirumir - $31,453.10
2) keyswin -$27,304.06
3) manumilitari - $26,587.81
4) lucky_lunatik - $25,975.30
5) BolePena - $21,949.25
6) PokerMill - $9,847.50
7) Stefa9 -$7,484.10
8 ) zanosa - $4,980.40
9) JAMS888 - $3,807.70
10) Ichan111 - $2,626
Ultimate Bet’s $200,000 almost reached its guarantee. 977 entrants anted up so the site put up a much smaller overlay than last week. Internet pros such as MariaNuccia (T Soprano), Cory “UGOTPZD” Carroll and Faraz “The-Toilet” Jaka were in da house. UGOTPZD brought up the rear as the seats filled up in the final table. He was also the first man out when his pocket sixes couldn’t come back from The-Toilet’s stinky nine on the turn.
The big story at the final table was really the dominance by both Maria Nuccia and The-Toilet. They kept swapping the chip lead and really dictated the action up until they met heads-up. It was nice to see The-Toilet, once he realized Nuccia had been disconnected, offer to sit out until his opponent returned. Now that’s what we call fantastic online etiquette!
Nuccia returned within ten hands or less. The two continued heads-up play for a bit with The-Toilet nipping away at MariaNuccia’s stack. Finally, MariaNuccia called 16,000 from the small blind preflop. The-Toilet checked in the big blind. The flop was Ad, 10h, 4h. The-Toilet bet out 40k. MariaNuccia called. The turn was a 3 of spades. MariaNuccia checked and The-Toilet put Nuccia all-in. The-Toilet turned over a 10,3 for two pair. MariaNuccia flipped up an A,5 for top pair and a wheel draw. The river card was a blank (Qh) and The-Toilet won a cool $45,000 for his first-place finish.
Here’s the final table results:
1) Faraz “The-Toilet” Jaka - $45,000
2) Maria Nuccia - $26,500
3) wake all in - $18,000
4) durrtyD - $13,100
5) ivoltron - $10,500

8) SQUIL - $4,500
9) HB_HITMAN - $3,400
10) Cory “UGOTPZD” Carroll - $2,000
