Champions League Latest Betting Tips and Preview Pt 1

After a stellar slew of Champions League action yesterday, another tandem of fixtures are set to unfold to round out the semi-finals of Europe’s biggest footballing extravaganza. Both of the matches yesterday proved that anything can happen in football with Real Madrid very nearly slipping up to Borussia Dortmund – who captured the second fixture 2-0 but failed to get that crucial extra goal to take it to a 3-3 draw on aggregate.

With Ronaldo remaining on the bench for the entire fixture, it looks like the move just panned out but there were plenty of times when the fans of the Galacticos had their hearts in their throats.

The second fixture was Chelsea’s massive comeback against Paris Saint-Germaine – overcoming a 3-1 aggregate deficit to progress through following Demba Ba’s great strike. After being criticized by Jose Mourinho in recent weeks, Chelsea’s strikeforce proved to be the crucial lynchpins as they secured progress through to the semi-finals once again.

Now it looks like Manchester United are the side tasked with pushing forward and performing a miracle. An early strike would open up the tie in a massive way and if United are the ones to grab that away goal – Bayern will really be put to the sword. The German champions are at a relative low-point considering their impressive home winning streak in domestic football was put to rest by a relatively middling side at the weekend.

United are dealing with their own problems at the moment with Robin Van Persie guaranteed to miss this one and Marouane Fellaini and Rafael both unable to train with the side. Juan Mata, who is just starting to hit his stride for the Red Devils, is also cup-tied for this fixture.

Bayern are a 1/3 shot to win this match outright while United trade at a massive 8/1 price tag. It looks like the bookmakers seem to think that if David Moyes men can pull this one off – it will be by securing a draw through a higher-scoring affair and you can back the 90 minutes draw at a 4/1 price. This also opens up the variable of extra-time or penalties paying off as well.
