Champions League Matchday 2 Wednesday Action

The second matchday of the 2011/12 Champions League produced some very interesting results with one of the biggest stories obviously being Carlos Tevez's supposed refusal to come off the bench as City were in the process of being trounced by Bayern Munich. It now appears as though Tevez will not play for City again after manager Roberto Mancini confirmed that he and Tevez are basically finished professionally.

The Argentinian has somehow enabled himself to alienate the entirely of Manchester inside two years.

Speaking of the other side of Manchester, United got off to a bright start with a pair of strikes from Danny Welbeck inside two minutes. They then went on to allow Basel right back into it with two quickfire strikes and a penalty. Ashley Young spared the blushes of the Red Devils by slotting home an equalizer at the death.

United now have an interesting problem developing as they have dropped points in both fixtures this year in Europe.

Chelsea face an interesting trip to Valencia today where they are still considered the favourites despite the Spanish side being in good form. Andre Villas-Boas' men trade at a 7/5 listing against Valencia's 2/1 price. The 9/4 draw looks like it will attract plenty of volume in a match that really could wind up going either way.

Arsenal face the easiest fixture this week out of any English team as they play host to Olympiacos at the Emirates Stadium. Punters will find the Greeks at a lengthy 6/1 price while Arsenal can be backed as low as 1/2 for the outright victory.

It seems as though you never know which Arsenal team will show up at this point, but Arsene Wenger will likely get the result here as long as they don't concede early.
