Chelsea and Man United to Meet in Athens?

They’ve already booked their places in an eagerly awaited FA Cup Final and now the bookmakers expect Chelsea and Man United to be the likeliest teams to make the Champions League final in Athens.

Indeed, there’s been plenty of money for a Blues v Red Devils final since the two teams got their noses in front during their respective ties against Liverpool and Milan last week. Some firms go just even money that they’ll contest Europe’s blue riband final, with Totesport the pick of the prices at 13/10.

Out of the 2005 finalists, most bookmakers think Milan have more chance of making the final than Liverpool with Blue Square going 2/1 about a Milan v Chelsea final which would mean Andriy Shevchenko facing his old team.

A heavily-policed Man United v Liverpool clash is 5/1 with Paddy Power while a repeat of the 2005 final in Istanbul when Liverpool famously beat Milan on penalties is a 7/1 shot with the same firm.
