COMMUNITY SHIELD MANCHESTER UNITED VS CHELSEA LATEST ODDS

We're now less than 24 hours away from the widely-anticipated Community Shield fixture between Manchester United and Premier League rivals Chelsea. You can bank on a fairly fierce encounter when these two sides line up and there's part of me that would prefer to see some of the more up-and-coming players from both sides take to the field as they usually provide a bit more excitement in these types of fixtures. 

Chelsea are listed at a 6/4 price tag to win the match and that's up slightly from when the odds were initially released. United have dropped a tiny bit as well and can now be backed at a 15/8 price instead of the straight 2/1 they were paying out at earlier. You can also back a draw, which would see some extra late drama, at an 11/5 price. 

In regards to the outright victory (this includes anything happening after the 90 minute whistle) you can back Chelsea at 8/11 and United are listed at even-money. This is probably an indication that the bookmakers favour Chelsea should we go to penalties. 

The bookmakers are now just giving Chelsea an edge in the correct score margins. You'll find a 1-0 result to the Blues listed at 7/1 while 2-1 is rewarding at 9/1 while a higher-scoring 3-2 affair would reward at 33/1. 

Manchester United to capture the Community Shield in a 1-0 victory pays out at 15/2 and a 2-1 result pays out at 10/1. 3-2 for United is also priced at 33/1. 

The over/under on goals is set at 2.5 with the under favoured at 7/10 while the over is at 11/10. 

If you're looking to back goalscorers in this fixture, the favoured strikers are Didier Drogba and Wayne Rooney- both players priced at 5/4 anytime and 4/1 first or last. Dimitar Berbatov is trading at 7/4 anytime and Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge is priced at 15/8. Frank Lampard is at 21/10. 

Danny Wellbeck, Federico Macheda and Nicolas Anelka are all trading at 9/4 anytime and 7/1 first or last. My selection, however, is Javier Hernandez aka Chicharito. Many other bookmakers have him ahead of Dimitar Berbatov to score but Bet365 has the young Mexican sensation priced at 12/5 to score anytime- if you see Hernandez's name on the teamsheet- back him at that price!
