England vs San Marino Euro 2016 Betting Tips Pt 2

One trick to remember is that England are likely to be up quite significantly at half-time and this could lead Hodgson to make a few changes and bring off some of the better players. While he only has three substations (which makes this a lot easier than betting on friendlies where half the team can come out at some point), Rooney is likely to be subbed off in the 60th minute at the latest if England are looking comfortable.

Traditionally, Rooney excels in matches like this being a true flat track bully, so focus your bets on the first goalscorer option if you fancy Rooney to have a genuinely big match up against San Marino.

Your other really good option with Rooney is the solid 4/5 odds being offered on him scoring two or more goals in the match. He is a very slim 5/2 to score a hat trick and that’s relatively unlikely as he will likely be involved in the link-up play as opposed to a huge amount of actual finishing. One thing he definitely has going in his favour is the fact that he is very likely to be taking all of England’s penalties here - and you reckon there will be a penalty or two when you think of how nervous the San Marino played are likely to be.

Danny Welbeck is another one who is looking really comfortable in front of goal but he will not likely be deployed in the position that he has been enjoying lately for Arsenal. He is a 3/1 shout to score first or last and he looks like one that will also be subbed off at a certain point during the fixture. His price to score anytime is unappealing at a 2/9 listing but his price to score two or more is an enticing one with odds of around 10/11 with the bookmakers and an 11/4 price out there right now on the hat trick.

This is much more likely to be a match where a lot of different players score as opposed to just one doing the bulk of the work in front of goal so avoiding the hat trick is probably your best idea unless you somehow fancy England to win 10-0 - which they very well could when you think about it.

If there is one player who will definitely be involved heavily it is going to be Raheem Sterling and he has a 1/2 price on him to score at any point in the match while he is 5/1 to score first or last in the match. He is an interesting 2/1 to score two or more in the match and that might wind up being an interesting wager.
