English Premier League Betting Update PT 1

It was another fascinating weekend in the English Premier League with plenty to talk about as we go forward following the last International break. Chelsea kept things steady and preserved their unbeaten record with an expected victory against West Brom by a 2-0 margin that really could have been more.

Now undefeated for the season and with Diego Costa going from strength to strength, it appears as though the league is done and dusted already and we’re not even into December.

If things continue as they have up until this point, many will look at this year as the real tipping point when the Premier League changed significantly and the “Big 4” were effectively broken up. The dominance that they showed over the last two decades since the inception of the Premier League might very well be over as a quick look at the top half of the table shows that everything really has changed.

Southampton are only 7 points behind Chelsea with a game in hand - they appear to have every possibility of continuing on like this as the side continues to get better with each match. Oftentimes there is always that one side who punch above their weight for a few months and then get done in by the winter break - where Premier League positions are often won and lost in a matter of a week or two.

Southampton look to be a cut above that right now and you can expect them to be able to continue this stellar trajectory and they might very well wind up in the Champions League next year.

What a story that would be - that a side who sold off virtually all of their high-profile players in the summer (and then replaced them with players many of us have never even heard of) could not only hold steady but actually push forward and improve tells you something both about the character of the side and the wiliness of their manager.
