The fact remains that Mourinho could still put something togethere here and they could venture forth and begin making an impresion on things but they will need to start stringing together wins against top clubs and not dropping points against the mid-table sides.

The odds then take a significant jump to Everton who can be backed as high as a 750/1 price tag with the majority of bookmakers pricing them around a 500/1 margin. Leicester are 1000/1 to put together a league victory that would be even more miraculous than last year considering where they are at in the league right now.

Southampton are a 1000/1 price alongside Bournemouth – who have emerged as a surprise outfit this time around. Watford and Crystal Palace are a 1500/1 listing with the majority of major bookmakers with Stoke, West Brom and West Ham all available at the same price. The longest shots on the board remain Swansea and Sunderland along with Hull – who all trade at 5000/1 to secure the league.

The race for relegation actually appears to be a pretty fascinating one with two teams that really look to be up against the wall and two teams that will be effectively doing a play-off for the rest of the season. The two sides that appear to be facing the drop quite considerably are Hull City and Sunderland – two teams that many figured would struggle this time around.

You'll find both sides trading at around a 1/2 margin with a few books going as low as 2/7 on Hull for the drop.

The other sides in the mix here are Swansea who are as high as a 10/11 price tag for relegation this year while Burnley are the side that many fancy to step into the relegation mire. You'll find them trading at a best price of about 7/5 for the drop. Middlesbrough aren't entirely safe either with a few books listing them at a 7/2 margin to be relegated.
