English Premier League Sunday Fixtures Betting Preview PT 1

There is a great slate of action set to kick off on Saturday but the Sunday fixtures look to be especially interesting with a London Derby that is sure to attract plenty of eyeballs (Chelsea vs Arsenal) and another London Derby (QPR vs West Ham) that could actually wind up being a really interesting match as well, though the stakes will be a bit lower.

The North also sees a fantastic fixture as Manchester United face probably their toughest side of the season so far (all things considered) when they host Everton. The result there is going to be crucial and with Wayne Rooney now facing a ban for his red card against Stewart Downing, things are only going to get even more interesting. It will be worth noting how United actually cope without Rooney and whether this opens things up for another quality performance from Juan Mata.

It’s an interesting scenario with Mata being discussed as a potential sale during the January transfer window but the simple fact remains that he offers up a lot of squad depth and the ability to bring a player like that off the bench can be crucial despite him playing a similar role as Rooney does.

You’ll find Louis Van Gaal’s side available at a slim 7/10 margin and some might be wanting a higher price than that for them to back United against this Everton side. The really interesting thing to see will be the formation that the Dutchman chooses here and the ability to field another defender or two will likely make things a bit more comfortable at the back. One of the unsung factors of the last fixture was the fact that the team buckled down and got the result despite being a man down and not exactly brimming with confidence lately.

Young Paddy McNair did a great job deputizing for the injured back line and Marcos Rojo showed his class when it was needed most. Things could have quickly gone from bad to worse and the team pulled it off. Rooney has apologized to the players but questions remain over his temperament on the field.
