Adam Currie

I am a South African/ British individual that has spent my time growing up between London and Cape Town.

I am a qualified journalist and professional writer, and have lived and worked in three continents over the past five years.

I have a serious and unrelenting passion for cricket, ranging from all formats- be it the thrill-a-minute Twenty20 adrenaline ride, to the patience and tactical allure of a gripping 5 day Test match.

My knowledge and know-how within the cricketing sphere have seen my work being published across for a diverse range of sporting titles, including that of Sports Illustrated.

I have travelled the world watching cricket, including the Ashes of 2005, as well as the World Cups of 2003 and 2007.

I realise my role as a cricket writer is not to sell an individual on a team, but to create an accurate overview of scenarios and attempt to forecast which way a match is going to swing using cricketing knowledge and foresight.

Cricket is my passion and be it the latest Ashes series, or upcoming county clash, I will bring you the most up to date and objective coverage from across the cricketing globe.

Random Facts

  • If I had a ₤1 million bet to place on a batsman to save a match I would choose: Jacques Kallis.
  • Other sports of interest: rugby, football.
  • Favourite cricketing sledge: Merv Hughes & Javed Miandad: During the 1991 Adelaide Test, Javed called Merv a fat bus conductor. A few balls latter Merv dismissed Javed. "Tickets please", Merv called out as he ran past the departing batsman.
