We will be taking a look at some of the big races happening that day and trying to get a gauge on how they might shape up now that we have had the official declarations come in and the ante post markets are firm.

In the 32Red.com Casino Novices Hurdle we have Jenkins priced in as the distinct favourite as he looks to take a big step towards festival season. He has been out three times in his short career under the tutelage of Nicky Henderson and you'll find him looking to follow up on the straightforward victory he put in on his seasonal debut at Newbury in his first effort over fences.

Sent off at 10/11 on the day, he looks like he could do well if he takes to the surface at Kempton on Boxing Day.

Charlemar is another talented four-year-old and he has strung together a pair of victories so far this season and it's especially interesting that he wasn't fancied either time. He comes into this one with a 6/1 price tag and he stayed on well enough last time out at Aintree to indicate that he should be able to reproduce that effort or improve on it when fully entended.

In the Kauto Star Novices Chase, we have a really wide open contest here with virtually every contender in the mix looking reasonably capable of getting the victory. So often in a number of these novice Grade 1 contests you'll get contenders who are 100/1 or 66/1 who really should be closer to 500/1.
