League Cup Betting Tips for Wednesday PT 2

Stoke vs Southampton sees the south coasters now sitting in second place in the Premier League and looking very likely as if they’ll be pushing for a European placing if they can continue this excellent run of form. Much to the chagrin of teams like Arsenal and Liverpool, Southampton are continuing to get the better of most of the teams in the League despite selling off their players throughout the summer. It’s testament to good managing and quality signings that this team, who many had counted out, would be able to kick on and produce this type of form.

Needless to say, Southampton are the favourites despite having to face the Potters at their own venue, where they are notoriously difficult to break down. You can lock in a solid 5/4 listing for Southampton to continue getting the better of their opposition while Stoke can be backed at a very interesting 12/5 price tag.

The draw is available at a 5/2 margin and that’s not bad value if you don’t expect Southampton to really flourish the way that they have been in past games.

It may make more sense to back Southampton at a 4/6 price to progress through any means as this one might wind up being one of those tricky low-scoring fixtures that’s sort of difficult to wager on. You can also tuck into a 6/5 price tag on Stoke City and this one could very well wind up going to penalties if Stoke get their way.

The other match-up is Tottenham Hotspur playing one of the last few non-Premier League teams left in the competition as they face off against Brighton. You can take a price on Spurs at 9/20 but you sort of get the feeling that there will be more than a few punters who opt to have a wager on Brighton as Spurs have been playing some up and down stuff and West Ham losing yesterday (not to mention Chelsea getting pushed all the way) might have some thinking there is room for one more lower league team in the next round.

Brighton are a 7/1 shout to get the victory here while the draw is available at a 15/4 margin.
