Manchester City vs Liverpool Betting Preview Pt 2

Sergio Aguero recently signed a brand new contract for Manchester City and he will be coming out all guns blazing here and the bookmakers are listing him as the outright betting favourite to score the opening goal of the match. Punters will find the Argentinian sensation at a quality price of 5.0 and will do well to kick on here and really pick things up early - perhaps trying to sneak in behind the Liverpool defense early and give them a real scare.

Edin Dzeko always oozes quality and he’s trading just behind Aguero at a 6.0 listing - which still represents some great value. The Liverpool defense might have something prepared for Aguero and that will always leave the door open for Dzeko to slot in and pick off his opposition.

Daniel Sturridge is a player with a lot of expectations on him this season but he will be buoyed now that he has another high-quality strike partner set to join him - even if he’s not actually going to be playing in this match. It’s a real make-or-break year for Sturridge and he’ll be keen to prove that he can tangle with the best clubs and players in the world and score match-winning goals.

You’ll find Daniel Sturridge at 7.0 to score the opener.

Other interesting options here for Liverpool include the likes of Raheem Sterling - another excellent young player who looks to be coming into his own this season and will be keen to impress. He’s available at a 10.0 listing and will be a real goal threat should be wind up starting the match - which many expect him to do.

Steven Gerrard is always an interesting option - also because he’s likely to take any penalties that Liverpool are awarded and you can bank on him being able to slide a freekick into the Manchester City goalmouth as well. He’s a solid 11.0 shot to open the scoring.

It’s also worth mentioning the presence of Frank Lampard, who is currently on loan from MLS side New York City FC. He trades at an identical price to Gerrard but is a bit less likely to start the match itself and will likely be deployed as a substitute.
