Manchester United vs Club Brugge Leg 2 Betting Tips PT 1

The second leg of the Champions League is set to unfold on Wednesday and we’re turning our attention to the Manchester United vs Club Brugge fixture that’s going to kick off. Louis Van Gaal’s men were triumphant in the first leg, even though they may have had a bit of luck to ride along the way based on two excellent goals from Memphis Depay and a super-sub performance from Marouane Fellaini who came off the bench with only twenty minutes remaining in the fixture only to score the vital insurance goal with virtually the last kick of the entire match to put the scoreline to the ever-important 3-1 margin.

Since Brugge were able to score first against United, based on a Michael Carrick own goal, they looked like they were about to spring a real surprise on Louis Van Gaal’s men at Old Trafford when it really mattered most.

Yet they were able to pick up the pieces and force the action for a good portion of the game with Memphis Depay making a real name for himself with two great goals of high quality. While this was undone slightly by his mediocre effort in their drawing effort with Newcastle at the weekend, he still showed plenty of aptitude and keen eye in front of goal.

United are the definitive favourites to win this one and that’s not just on the outright qualification market, they are the genuine favourites to get the 90 minutes result and are currently trading at an odds-on price. You have to wonder about the logic there since they can still lose 1-0 and go through on the aggregate score so the onus won’t really be there to go forward in numbers as much as the casual observer might genuinely think.

But the best defence is often a good offence and you’ll have to assume that Van Gaal may name an attacking formation spearheaded by Wayne Rooney - albeit with a pair of holding midfielders to nullify that Brugge attack - particularly down the right flank of the field.
