There have been plenty of rumours and statements from those connected to the boxing world that the Pacquiao vs Mayweather bout isn't dead in the water and could indeed happen at some point this year. A recent statement from Oscar De La Hoya confirmed that his Golden Boy Entertainment Group is aware of ongoing discussions between the Pacquiao and Mayweather camps.

In a recent interview, Promoter Bob Arum claimed that Pacquiao is ready to take on Mayweather and that the drug testing issue is now a thing of the past.
Pacquiao is reportedly desperate to get Floyd in the ring and will make concessions to ensure that Mayweather can't duck out of the fight like he did last time.

Pacquiao was teh one who dodged thelast fight - he didnt agree to the one term Mayweather put on the table, even after Mayweather had agreed to the terms Pacquiao had laid out. Nice one sided article though - It will be a pleasure to take your money when Floyd whips little Pacman..
To Mr.Razor, the answer to your question is that Mayweather is afraid to lose his "Zero Loss Status," so he has second thoughts in signing the contract. For Floyd to have guts to fight Pacman, think of it as a trouble-free way of punching or beating down a politician. I mean, legally accepted, not trouble-free.

Manny Pacquiao has destroyed the best fighters in the world (Barrera, Morales, Cotto, De la Hoya, Diaz, Hatton the list is never ending). It is Pacquiao who is desperate to fight Mayweather so I dont know why the blame is being laid on Pacman. Manny Pacquio can go the full 12 rounds, the guys got stamina, power, speed and endurance and Mayweather, if you want to fight him, you best increase your Insurance!

Floyd will only fight in Las Vegasbecause that is the only place where Xylocaine is legal. It is illegal in other states. Floyd has brittle hands and he needs to numb it to be able to punch without feeling pain. Floyd talking about "levelling the playing field" ??? He already has BIG advantage in reach, height and weight against pacquiao. Added to that, he need to use Xylocaine. It numbs your hands but it also numbs your whole body like anaesthesia. So when you get hit, you don't feel the pain. So technically it can be classified as a PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUG because it increases your performance during the fight by not feeling pain.

Didn't it ever occured to you guys during the first talks that Mayweather agreed so eagerly to all like the glove size, the purse, the 10million per pound over weighing and so? It could be earlier like 6th round. if Floyd runs like Cotto and covers up like clottey, he will end up like De La Hoya or even Hatton. Both punch harder than Floyd. If they couldn't keep Pacquiao away or hurt him with their best shots, Mayweather is in grave danger; he doesn't have heavy artillery.
I can tell half of the people on here just got hip to Pac-man after fighting Oscar cause it's major nut riding. In boxing you don't just say I want to fight him and yall sign a contract. But answer this, Shane Mosely wanted to fight Pac-man and didnt ask for none of that drug testing and he still didnt want to fight him..so who ducked who. He went on to fight Clottley, who even though he coulda won still gave Pac-man a face make over.
