PACQUIAO VS CLOTTEY LATEST ODDS FROM BETFAIR

We’re less than a week away from Manny Pacquiao’s first fight of the year as he takes on the Ghanaian pugilist Josh Clottey in a 12 round fight at Cowboy’s Stadium on March 13. For quite some time, Pacquiao has been the distinct favourite and that tide shows no signs of abating as even the betting exchanges are only offering up slim prices on a Pacquiao victory. In fact, many observers are starting to say that Clottey is in danger of becoming over-laid and that neutral fans looking to make a few bucks would do well to back Pacquiao’s counter-part for a dramatic upset.

Manny Pacquiao, in my opinion, hasn’t even reached his own personal heights yet and I think he still has a lot more gas in the tank and tricks up his sleeve. Josh Clottey’s best hope to win the fight is a sudden KO- catching Manny on the chin with his guard down.

Currently, Manny Pacquiao’s outright odds to win the fight are trading at 1.2 with Betfair while Clottey can be backed at a 6.0 price. The draw pays out at 55.0, but that never happens so I wouldn’t bother.

The big question right now is whether the fight will go the distance. Currently, the Betfair exchange says no, with the fight ending before a decision priced at 1.62. Should the fight go the distance, you’re looking at a 2.02 margin at the moment.

In regards to the method of victory, Pacquiao by KO, TKO or DQ pays out at a solid 1.89 while a victory by decision rewards at a 2.62 price. Clottey to win by KO, TKO or DQ pays out at 9.0 while Clottey by decision or technical decision will pay out at a solid 34.0. I don’t see Clottey winning that many rounds even if it does go the distance, so I can see why the price is so high.

The over/under on total rounds is 8.5 with the 1st-8th round paying 2.2 and 9th round or above paying 1.44. This is an interesting contrast to the Go the Distance odds and it indicates that punters think the fight will likely end in the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th rounds.

You can take advantage of the Grouped Round Betting where Pacquiao is at 4.7 to win between rounds 10-12. He is 6.2 to win between reounds 7-9 and 5.8 between rounds 4-6. Should be win in rounds 1-3 you’re looking at 8.4.
