Premier League Weekend Betting Preview Part 1

It's always a bit off-putting that we have these international breaks just as the start of the English Premier League season starts to get interesting. The action returns this Saturday, however, and there is a few interesting matches in there but the bulk of the better teams are all facing off against lesser opposition.

One reckons that there might be more than a few short-odds accumulators staked this Saturday as United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal are all odds-on to take all three points. The matches themselves look interesting and Liverpool are just a hair off the pace with a 5/4 price to notch an away win in the late fixture against Sunderland.

You can lock in odds of around 5.2 on United x City x Chelsea x Arsenal all to win.

The Gunners are still yet to concede a goal this season although many have found their matches to be rather underwhelming. They go into the match with Southampton at a 4/11 price tag and should be able to get the job done at home. The visitors have shown that they can play some effective stuff and Arsene Wenger's men must be careful not to ship any early goals.

Manchester United host neighbours Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford and you can expect Sir Alex Ferguson's men to get the job done here – even though they have looked relatively shaky in both of their matches this year. Some will be wondering about Robin Van Persie limping off for Holland earlier this week but word is that he will be fit and ready for this fixture – welcome news for United who are dealing with Wayne Rooney's absence as well.

The Red Devils are priced at 2/9 and are the biggest favourites of the day.

Manchester City face a trickier clash away to Stoke City and they'll need to stay organized throughout this one and be able to cope with the Potters' physical presence. It could be one of those days for Roberto Mancini's men and that's why they're trading at 8/11. This might be one for an in-play wager as City have been able to consistently produce some late magic – time it right and you could lock in some solid odds.
