So You Think Priced As Favourite for 2012 Dubai World Cup

One of horse racing's global superstars is officially confirmed for the world's richest race as New Zealand-bred superstar So You Think is set for a run in the 2012 Dubai World Cup. Not only is his presence confirmed but ante post handicappers, who have long suspected that the six-year-old son of High Chaparral would be pointed in this direction, declared him to be the outright favourite for this one – listing him at a 7/2 price tag.

Despite not registering a victory in his past three attempts, So You Think is a deserved favourite for this one and has demonstrated the ability to hit consistently off a lay-off. He's not been on track since a sixth place finish in his dirt debut at Churchill Downs in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Classic.

His fourth place finish in the 2011 Arc De Triomphe was indicative of a greater ability to compete against Europe's top stayers.

So You Think hasn't won since taking the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown back in early September but will be right at home on the Tapeta strip which tends to play like his preferred turf surfaces.

There are a few genuine competitors out there for this one with Japanese-campaigned superstar Smart Falcon emerging as the 6/1 second favourite. He's rattled off an insane nine in a row with his most recent score coming just a week ago in the Group 1 Kawasaki Kinan Stakes. He hasn't run against seasoned international contenders though, and it will be very interesting to see how he copes with the synthetic surface.

A respectable American contingent is set for this one as well with Game On Dude, piloted by Canada's own Chantal Sutherland, is expected to be here if he's fit after his next race at Santa Anita. Bob Baffert's talented runner almost won the 2011 Breeders' Cup but was collared by Drosselmeyer and Sutherland's ex-fiancee Mike Smith. Game On Dude is registered as a solid 8/1 and will likely try to set the pace for this one.

Blockbuster American filly Royal Delta, sold for an insane $8,500,000 after winning the Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic, is also priced at 8/1 and represents America's female racing renaissance. Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom is a solid 10/1 and the synthetic specialist is set for his first run since the Belmont Stakes at Tampa Bay this weekend and will progress on from there. Dubai is a clear destination for the Team Valor colt.
