The Majors

The four blue riband events in the golfing calendar are called the Majors and are the ultimate goal of any professional golfer. They occur in the same order every year - The Masters, the US Open, The Open, The PGA - and apart from The Masters which is at Augusta they are all held at a different selected course each year.

The 2007 Major champions are:

The Masters: Zach Johnson

The US Open: Angel Cabrera (Oakmont)

The Open: Padraig Harrington (Carnoustie)

The PGA: Tiger Woods (Southern Hills)

There hasn't been a European winner of the USPGA Championship since 1930 but if anyone can break the hoodoo it is England's very own Justin Rose.
