Justin Rose was brought into 8/1 as well during the in-play betting as he was able to post up some solid scores and was just a solitary stroke behind Hoffman at the time of this writing. Other popular contenders include the likes of Dustin Johnson who can be backed anywhere around 14/1 while Adam Scott is always an interesting outside option and he can be backed at a 16/1 margin.

Phil Mickelson is a 16/1 shout as well and that will probably be a decent each-way bet for a number of people since there is every chance that Lefty posts a good run once we get past the cut line. Henrik Stenson is a decent 20/1 price tag and he’s always in contention for matches like this.

Jimmy Walker is also available at a 20/1 price tag while Paul Casey trades alongside Tiger Woods at the aforementioned price of 25/1. Casey is always an interesting option as well so he could make a big statement at this tournament and is a decent possibility for a top 6 finish.

Rickie Fowler has also been going from strength to strength in past months so he’s not a terrible play at 33/1 either - particularly if you’re going in on the each-way bet. He could be poised to make a surge and deserves a lot of respect later on in the tournament if he is hanging around the top 10 or even the top 15.

The top Asian player is expected to be Hideki Matsuyama and he’s a solid 33/1 shout right now. South African fancy Louis Oosthuizen is trading at a 50/1 margin.
