TIGER WOODS A WILDCARD FOR 2010 RYDER CUP: ODDS AT 14/1 TO SINK WINNING PUTT

The big news in the golf world is that Tiger Woods has been officially selected as the wildcard pick for the American 2010 Ryder Cup team. It certainly ratchets up the media attention now that Woods presence is confirmed so you can bank on plenty of punters expecting Woods to come good on this massive stage. 

The odds for the 2010 Ryder Cup remain unchanged however, with popular Irish bookmaker Paddy Power pricing Europe as the odds-on favourites to win the tournament. You can back them at 4/6 while the USA are trading at a 6/4 price to win. An unlikely draw is listed at an 11/1 price tag. 

The top US points scorer is favoured to be Tiger Woods and you can back him at a 7/2 listing. Steve Stricker is expected to have a big tournament and you can get a 5/1 payout on him. Phil Mickelson is listed at 6/1 alongside Jim Furyk while Stewart Cink and Dustin Johnson are available at 10/1. 

Hunter Mahan is listed at 11/1 with Matt Kuchar and Zach Johnson sharing 12/1 prices. Rickie Fowler is available at 14/1 with Bubba Watson at 18/1. Jim Overton is the longest shot on the board at 30/1. 

Rory McIlroy is favoured to get the job done for the European side with a 9/2 price. Lee Westwood is nipping at his heels with a 5/1 listing. Graeme McDowell and Martin Kaymer are trading at 15/2 with a cadre of players on 10/1 including Luke Donald, Padraig Harrington, Ross Fisher and Ian Poulter. Edoardo Molinari and Francesco Molinari are at 11/1 and 12/1, respectively with Miguel Angel Jimenez at 16/1 and Peter Hanson as the 25/1 long shot. 

Tiger Woods' odds to be named Top Wildcard Points Scorer are set at 7/4, making him a clear favourite. Luke Donald is next up at 5/1 with Edoardo Molinari and Stewart Cink at 11/1. Padraig is at 6/1 with Zach Johnson at 13/2. Rickie Fowler is trading at 10/1.
