Time For Rupert Gallop Delights Connections

The leading favourite for the 2011 RSA Chase is apparently in cracking form after connections expressed genuine confidence after a Friday gallop session.

Under the tutelage of conditioner Paul Webber, the seven year-old son of Flemensfirth put in a private gallop at Peter Cundell's yard in Compton with preferred jockey William Kennedy in the irons.

Kennedy took to Twitter shortly afterwards and declared "Rupert Worked really well and I was very happy with him...Another bit next we'll and he'll be spot on for the RSA."

As it currently stands, Time For Rupert is considered the 5/2 favourite for the 3m contest over fences. It appears as though this has been the target for him all along as connections have campaigned him exclusively over the Cheltenham surface in his two efforts in the 2010/11 National Hunt season.

The chestnut gelding won both of his efforts this year with impressive performances, conquering a number of tough competitors in his seasonal debut who have since gone on to win well.

Popular Irish chaser Weapon's Amnesty put in a great shift last year to take the victory and he'd been campaigned in a similar fashion.

The only other contenders floating at single-digit ante post prices are Jessies Dream and Paul Nicholls' Aiteen Thirtythree.
