Wimbledon Semi Finals Betting Advice

July 03, 2008 - A.J Ryder From the outset you would have to say that this year's Wimbledon tournament has been an outstanding one even though it hasn't necessarily been jam-packed with surprises. Roger Federer is still yet to drop a set and he's absolutely demolished the competition throughout the whole tournament. He took Mario Ancic 6-1,7-5 and 6-4 to seal his passage into the semi finals.

Federer will be coming up against Marat Safin in the semi finals and while Roger has been in impeccable form, Safin is listed at an enticing 11.5. Seriously though, it's impossible to bet against Federer at this stage- his form is simply that good. However, Betfair is giving some really solid odds on him dropping a set against Safin. I believe that's where the value is here and even that is definitely not a lock.

The other semi final will see Rafael Nadal come up against the unseeded Rainer Schuettler. I can definitely see Nadal coming out on top in this one, his form hasn't been as dominant as Federer but he is still putting in workmanlike performances in every match and hasn't really been in any serious trouble yet. I am confident that he will dispose of the German although he may get a slight scare towards the end as the German is punching above his weight.
