World Cup Final Betting Tips and Preview Pt 1

After one of the most exciting and, in many cases, surprising World Cups in quite some time we are finally down to the last pair of fixtures for the 2014 iteration of the world’s most famous sporting tournament. Two talismanic footballing titans are set to clash here and the contrasting styles between the two couldn’t be any more apparent.

Germany quite literally shocked the world and brought an entire nation to its knees with their incredible demolition of the host country Brazil. In a 7-1 result that will live long in the memory of everyone who watched it, the favourites to win the tournament weren’t just picked apart by the Germans, they were absolutely humiliated - scoring a flurry of goals inside just a couple of minutes.

The shellshocked Brazilian fans couldn’t barely contain their rage - in fact many of them made no effort to hide it at all. While about 90% of the stadium was in tears by half-time, the Germans apparently decided that they would tone it down in the second half and do their best not to completely humiliate Brazil. That really is the ultimate insult.

Argentina have been effective at moving forward through the competition on a steady stream of 1-0 victories that have made seem a lot more like the 2004 version of Greece that was able to dominate the Euro competition by parking the bus and sneaking goals here and there.

Lionel Messi has definitely been one of the players of the tournament and he has been able to silence the critics who have maintained that he doesn’t perform well at international level.

It would be a major coup to win the World Cup in the land of their biggest rivals, but you have to admit that they have had a pretty easy go of things through the knockout stages and the group stages as well. They needed penalties to take down a lackluster Holland side who really outperformed expectations at the tournament and look good as they move forward.
