2000 Guineas Ante Post Preview Part 2

Speaking of Coolmore, Kingsbarns had been widely talked up for quite some time about having a serious tilt at the 2000 Guineas but his price is starting to cool off after O’Brien declared that he faces a race against time to get the horse another run prior to the Guineas. He is undefeated from both starts but will need something under his belt after winning the big money Racing Post Trophy at the end of his 2YO campaign.

As it currently stands, punters will find Kingsbarns anywhere from 7/1 to 10/1 and drifting.

Promising prospect Mars has only been out on track once, smashing a Dundalk maiden field by nearly five lengths with Joseph O’Brien up. He is getting some really prominent placing from ante post punters who continue to back him. He can be had anywhere from 16/1 to 12/1 depending on whom you’re betting with.

Much-vaunted Olympic Glory lines up for this one as well and he boasts a very solid price to credibility ratio as he’s already conquered a Group 1 at Longchamp and taken a pair of Group 2 efforts prior to that. He’s gone off as the favourite in every race he’s run in except for the Coventry Stakes where he finished second to New Approach when sent off at 20/1.

This colt has certainly proven that he can hang tough with the best of them and he continues to move forward and forge a quality partnership with Richard Hughes. He can be backed as high as 16/1 which makes him an each-way player for many.

Dundonnell is a Juddmonte entry who is getting some play as well, but this one can be backed around 20/1. Still seeking that elusive Grade 1 score, he has a Grade 3 under his belt from York last year and was last seen finishing fourth to George Vancouver at Santa Anita in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.

George Vancouver himself can be backed around 20/1 as well and deserved respect after proving that he can keep it close with Dawn Approach by taking third in the Dewhurst prior to his victory in California. He’s also in each-way territory.
