2000 Guineas Betting Tips Pt 2
- By A.J. Ryder on January 3, 2014 18:37 GMTWar Command looms as the much more interesting option and the Dewhurst winner now tops his generation in terms of earnings. Another Aidan O’Brien-trained winner certainly will keep moving forward and he has already tackled a Pair of Group 2’s successfully with the only real blemish on his record being a 3rd place finish in the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.

The talented son of War Front is out of a Red Ransom mare and that’s quite a combo no matter what type of surface you are running on. He has more experience than the bulk of the Guineas ante post field and you reckon that he’s got more than enough gas in the tank to compete a long campaign next year.
It’s probably not unlikely that he will make an appearance in the United States - likely with the Breeders’ Cup Classic in mind.
Coolmore made a bit of a mistake putting 6 foot tall Joseph O’Brien on Declaration of War this year and it’s likely that they would have found the line first if he had been riding a bit more aerodynamically. That type of height is a real disadvantage for him and he was awfully harsh with the whip on the run-in. You have to assume that’s a luxury to him having no potential for a ban on the way home.
Right now you can lock in a very solid 8/1 on War Command and that puts him alongside Kingston Hill in the 2000 Guineas ante post market. Roger Varian trains the talented son of Mastercraftsman and the Racing Post Trophy winner also has a Group 3 to his credit.
He had a one-month campaign in 2013 and looked good debuting at Newbury in a maiden race and then running three weeks later at newmarket in his first stake - capturing the race by a solid 2 length margin when he was sent off at a very solid 15/2.
