2000 Guineas Each-Way Contenders PT 2
- By A.J. He was sent off at 11/8 as the lukewarm favourite and was able to get the better of some talented colts.

He is down to as low as 7/1 with some books but there are a few others who continue to list him at a 12/1 margin and that brings him firmly into each-way territory. He will likely be able to improve a bit after that last victory and could be a real feather in the cap of Sheikh Hamdan’s operation.
The other one, Estidhkaar is an awfully difficult name to spell or pronounce and he might be tougher to wager on here as the well-regarded colt wasn’t able to really get the job done in his seasonal debut at Newbury when he was held off by Muhaarar by a quarter length margin. He stayed on well in the race but was always being held off and that might be enough to put some off of him as some might not think he’s genuinely fast enough tangle at Group 1 level against colts like this.
It is Muhaarar himself that might actually wind up being a very interesting option for some as the Charlie Hills-trained Oasis Dream colt won that race and also was able to finish third in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes last year and win the Group 2 Gimcrack at York. He’s never finished outside of the top 3 in his career and has shown the ability to win. Both victories aside from his maiden were by slim margins so this horse knows how to do just enough and stay on under heavy pressure.
With a price hovering anywhere between 12/1 and 20/1 he could wind up being a really solid each-way shout for punters who are looking for a horse that has a decent shot of winning and at least hitting the board as well as he looks a very good option for a top 3 finish.
