2011 Morgiana Hurdle Betting Tips

The 2011 Morgiana Hurdle looks to be absolutely all about Hurricane Fly heading into the race and punters are piling on – with a price now being beaten down to 2/5 or 4/9 if you're lucky. Hot on the heels of a triple withdrawal that saw Canaly, Voler La Vedette and Unaccompanied removed from the running.

It's tough to argue against the seven-year-old son of Montjeu being the best contender in the race as he's currently on a six race win streak. He spent nearly the entirety of last season beating up on Solwhit in race after race before finally proving his Cheltenham chops by grabbing the champion hurdle at last year's festival.

He then followed up the smashing score in England with a proper victory on home soil by taking the Rabobank Champion Hurdle at Punchestown by a hefty five length margin.

Hurricane Fly enters the race with a very solid 172 OR for this season which places him at a career high level. He likes Punchestown so much and should absolutely relish the going so it's tough to look anywhere other than this very chalky favourite.

Pittoni is the second favourite and also knows a thing or two about win streaks with four victories on the bounce. Look for him to do his best but he simply doesn't have the graded scores that Hurricane Fly does to add credence to his claims. He trades around a 4/1 margin and will prove popular with the locals looking to beat the big one.

Oscars Wells trades at 6/1 while Thousand Stars may represent a slightly better option at a solid 8/1 price and both look very plausible on the bottom end of your forecast ticket.
