2012 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Preview Part 2

Power Broker looked every bit a champion in his high-quality score in the Grade 1 Frontrunner Stakes on opening weekend. He was three wide and drifted a bit in the stretch but was so clear by that point that it didn't even really matter.
Rafael Bejerano was up for the ride that day and has been aboard for all three of his runs. That was actually his maiden win – coming at Grade 1 level – and you have to respect both his pedigree (Pulpit means he's going to want more distance) and his connections (Baffert is expected to dominate this Breeders' Cup) for a race that could really be shaping up for him.
Godolphin's entry is Fortify, who hasn't won since his maiden victory back at Saratoga in August. Ramon Dominguez took a shot with him last time out in the Champagne Stakes (when he probably could have had a better mount) so he may stick around and give him another go here. He is by Distorted Humor and is out of an AP Indy mare.
Dynamic Sky has been campaigned exclusively over synthetic tracks up to this point and looked pretty good finishing second in the Breeders' Futurity in his last effort at Keeneland. He looks like one who will really need to move forward if he wants to contest for win honours but his running style and ability to come late will give him a real reasonable chance of landing him on the bottom end of your exotic tickets.
He fits in from a figures standpoint and could make full use of any luck that he might be given. He's had a probably with lugging in, so any adjustments made will likely be about changing around those tendencies.
Verdict: Shanghai Bobby does look the choice of his generation and he will likely go off quite short on the day. This might be interesting to see how the Lasix issue affects them all and you're going to want Dynamic Sky and Monument on your tickets as well. Power Broker should also be involved in your superfecta.
