A trip to the California sunshine is in the cards for the winner of this 2YO contest going 1m at Leopardstown. The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Trial Stakes is going to produce one of the hot contenders for this year's world championship race at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Several top yards have their choice runners lined up for this one and many of them might be ready to roll with some late decisions as a few co-entries dot the card.

The well-regarded Afonso De Sousa managed to finish third to Dundonnell at York in a Group 3 encounter shortly after breaking his maiden at Leopardstown by a smashing nine lengths, albeit at a 6f distance.
Sent off at 4/9 on the day, it should be noted that no contenders from his maiden win have gone on to win at any point since. His placing to Dundonnell is the main reference here with as much is expected of the Roger Charlton-trained colt.
Cannery Row lines up for the Prendergrast yard and he enters off a credible placing at Naas way back in May. Clearly he's been pointed at this one for quite some time and it will be interesting to see just how sharp he is firing off the lay-off. He took a month and a half break between his 1st and 2nd tries and managed to score after the time on the shelf.
He is known to race a bit closer to the pace and has never finished outside of the exacta. The fact that he only beat two other horses in his maiden win does raise question marks though.
Count of Limonade is by none other than Duke of Marmalade and is out of a Darshaan mare. He has a maiden score and a nursery win at Killarney to his credit and he'll be lining up for his second race inside a week should he make it into the starting gate here. He looks like he does better when he gets a month or so prior to each race.
Dark Pulse is an interesting entry who is by Midnight Lute. He finished way back at Leopardstown in mid-August in his first effort and moves up in class for this one. If he is going to turn on the afterburners he might be part of the equation – you reckon he might enjoy a trip to California, where his father amassed a fortune.
Another O'Brien entry is Flying The Flag, who drops down in class after finishing second in a field of four in a Group 2 encounter at the Curragh two weeks ago. He won nis maiden at the first time of asking and was sent off as the 7/4 joint favourite when stepping up to stakes for the first time. There is an extra furlong to navigate here, though the going was listed as heavy on the day.
Law Enforcement looks to be the choice as he's ratled off three wins in a row – a maiden at Epsom followed up by Nursery wins at Newmarket and Sandown. He is rated 98 and looks set to move forward.
Mars will get some attention for the O'Brien yard and the son of Galileo is by a Danehill mare – look for him to do some serious damage, especially if he gets Joseph in the saddle.
