2012 Dubai Dewhurst Betting Preview Part 2

Undefeated Dansili colt Ashdan is part of what could be a double entry here from Juddmonte. He has only been out twice and has won both contests - with William Buick in the irons. His last score was in a conditions stakes contest and it's a fair jump up in class to go from that level to the Dewhurst but he certainly has the connections to get the job done. Can he tangle with Group 1 winners and keep things moving forward? Time will tell, but the yard has indicated that he could be the main choice here as Buick looks likely to stay with the mount.

Expect his price to shorten just based on the Frankel connections - particularly if punters move away from Dawn Approach for whatever reason. You'll find Ashdan hoarding around 8/1.

Dundonnell is the other Juddmonte entry and, though many consider him to be the more accomplished runner, he is trading at a much longer price of 12/1 in the ante post market. Punters will want to wait until they get a firm declaration from his connections about his overall chances here. He is a Group 3 winner and is Group 2 placed though he looks like he will enjoy the longer distances he'll be tackling next year.

George Vancouver is a maiden winner with ambitious connections. The Henrythenavigator colt trades at a14/1 price to tackle this race and he will need to push on from what he was able to pull off in his last few races. He did finish 2nd by less than a length in a Group 1 contest at Deauville and that shows you that he's still got a bit more room to move forward.

Havana Gold hasn't really been off the board since unseated Ryan Moore at Deauville back in the Prix Francois Boutin. He's getting support from the punters and can be backed at 10/1 at this point. He will be looking to kick on here and at least hit the board - setting himself up as the premier 2YO for Teofilo next season.

The Ferryman has only been out twice and is going to improve and move on here if you think his yard has made the right choice by entering him here. Expect him to go to the lead early on and you can also expect that he may just try and steal this one. It wouldn't be the first time a son of Galileo had won the Dewhurst now would it?

There are still a few more withdrawals expected over the coming days so not getting too carried away before Thursday is probably your best bet to ensure top value on the 2012 Dubai Dewhurst.
