Undefeated Van Der Neer is confirmed to receive Richard Hughes for this one and he'll be stepping up considerably in grade for this one. He hasn't really won any of those races by blockbuster margins, but has only been racing for just over a month now after breaking his maiden September 20 at Yarmouth when he bested a field of 11 with Hughesy in the irons.

Kingsbarns is another total wildcard as this homebred by Ann O'Brien lines up for the usual connections. Only one track one time in a scintillating seven-length victory at Navan, he was sent off on the day at a 4/11 price tag. He achieved some respectable ratings after that performance and it's clear that the bookmakers really expect him to move forward.
Birdman lines up for the David Simcock yard and, though he does have a relatively high rating, he's been short of form as of late now that he has stepped up to the Group level. He was headed on the line back in July at Newmarket in a Group 2 encounter and the results have continued to go against him since. He had a torrid time during his only appearance on the surface at Doncaster when he ran 5/5 in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes.
If you look at the odds he was sent off at during his last two races, you get the idea that punters are starting to lose confidence in him.
Jeremy Noseda saddles Fantastic Moon, a two-year-old son of Dalakhani. He took the Group 3 Solario Stakes at Sandown by a head over Tha'Ir with William Buick up for the trip. Look for him to go right to the front and look to get the result here.
He was beaten by Steeler in his last effort and seems to be more appreciative of firm ground so he may be hoping things dry out a bit before things get serious this weekend.
Havana Gold is also by Teofilo and looks like a high-quality colt with a solid 160,000+ in earnings already. He finished a very credible second with Richard Hughes up for the Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy, missing out by just a head in a race that saw him earn a career-high official rating.
