2013 Belmont Stakes Betting Tips Part 1
- By A.J. The feature contest appears to be a fascinating showdown between Kentucky Derby winner Orb and Preakness winner Oxbow.

A face-off between two very dynamic jockeys - Orb’s pilot Joel Rosario has only emerged in the last few years but has rapidly become viewed as the best finisher in horse racing. Having captured the Dubai World Cup with Animal Kingdom back in March, this jock has been picking off some of the best races in the world and looks set for a Royal Ascot debut in a few weeks time.
Oxbow’s rider is Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens, who came out of retirement this year and has already made some major statements taking Grade 1’s in his California home base and shipping eastward to capture the Preakness.
There is every chance that Orb will be much fresher after a few weeks break following the Preakness and the bookmakers have installed him as the betting favourite in the morning line. Punters will find Orb priced anywhere from 3/1 to 7/1 with several books going 10/3.
Oxbow can be backed in the neighbourhood of 5/1 all the way up to 7/1, depending on who you’re betting with. There is also a lot of punters who will be veering towards Revolutionary, who put in a great run on Kentucky Derby day and also took a lot of money with Calvin Borel in the irons.
