The only entry Prince De Beauchene has for the Aintree meeting is in the National so punters can back him with confidence. You’ll find him trading around 10/1 with most major bookmakers though some do offer him at 12s.

Seabass is an intriguing sort and comes in with a typically high rating. He was third to Roi Du Mee in the aforementioned Grade 2 contest at Fairyhouse. He hasn’t won in either of his races this year but really has shown plenty of verve in the past. You reckon that he wasn’t really sent out to necessarily win either of those efforts earlier this year as it looks as though he has been pointed towards the National after placing last year.
He was sent off as one of the 8/1 joint favourites before ultimately finishing third. Knowing that Seabass has the ability to actually finish a Grand National is definitely a bit of added value and it’s also worth noting that he will be likely having Katie Walsh in the irons again for this one - surely meaning that he’s going to take money from the female punters piling on to this one. Despite the off form this year - he is still doing well and looks a solid pick for those looking to play against the Mullins yard.
Cappa Bleu is the fourth major contender for this race who is still trading in the top tier of price selections. He’s another one who hasn’t actually had a win in quite some time (you have to go back to November of 2011) but he spent some time on the sidelines and has only been raced twice during this National Hunt season. Both efforts saw him finish second - one a competitive loss to Vino Griego when sent off at 5/1 and the other a 28 length spanking by Across The Bay.
Paul Moloney will get the trip here and it’s worth noting that he finished fourth last year and has all the credibility of having finished a Grand National. The eleven-year-old has some talent but will need to channel it all (and get a bit of luck on the way) if he wants to hit the line first.
Look for him at 14/1 with most major bookmakers.
