2013 Hong Kong International Tips Pt 1
- By A.J. Ryder on December 4, 2013 00:20 GMTThe grandaddy of them all is the 2013 Hong Kong International - which is the de facto equivalent of Asia’s Champions Day, Arc and Breeders’ Cup Classic all rolled up into one. This challenging turf battle will pit the best horses from a variety of different continents against each other in search of a massive prize. This looks to be an especially fascinating betting race as the top four or five contenders are all within just a few points of each other in terms of the ante post wagering.

It remains to be seen just how things will shape up but when you have one of the best horses running in Europe (Cirrus Des Aigles) facing off against one of the best horses in the Asiatic Region (Military Attack) and just a hairsbreath of a point between them (3/1 to 10/3) you know you’re going to be facing up to a fascinating duel.
Cirrus Des Aigles is a genuine quality horse who can take on the world’s best any day of the week. He got his major breakthrough when he captured this year’s edition of the Champion Stakes and you have to respect the manner in which he did it. Following up Frankel’s absolute demolishing of virtually everything in his path, Cirrus Des Aigles has done well to step up and fill the gap in taking on all comers.
Military Attack deserves plenty of respect and has rattled off a steady stream of excellent results in the last calendar year. He’s done well for me in the past and I was able to hit him a few months back at a hefty 10/1 price on the international ante post markets. He and his jock know the course and didn’t have to ship far for this one so you reckon they will be a bit more fresh and looking to put in a good shift in front of their home fans.
As usual, Military Attack is likely to be overbet in the local market but should reward at a decent price with European betting sites. The reverse scenario is plausible with Cirrus Des Aigles.
