2013 Hong Kong International Tips Pt 2
- By A.J. Ryder on December 4, 2013 00:21 GMTAkeed Mofeed is an interesting sort and he looms large as a third choice selection here. He’s a 5/1 shout at the moment in the ante post markets and looks like a decent selection to at least hit the board when you consider his connections and overall running ability in races like this. While he may have bit off slightly more than he could chew in the past, you reckon that he has every chance here if he gets things just right.

Endowing is also priced at a 5/1 margin and looks an interesting selection as well.
The real attention from America is going to be on the Dale Romans’-trained Little Mike, who captured the Breeders’ Cup Turf last year but hasn’t exactly had the best of seasons yet this time out. Romans is in good quality form right now and he looks likely to retain the riding services of Gary Stevens.
Little Mike has definitely proven that he can hang tough with the best of them and the real question remains whether he has the genuine chops to ship this far and put up a good fight. The European books have him trading at a competitive 12/1 right now - the first option behind the tightly-grouped leading fancies.
His American price is likely to be short and his odds on the day at Sha Tin itself could top 20/1 as you can expect Military Attack to be hammered on track if he makes a good pre-race appearance and the locals have had a good run of success up until that point. Little Mike has a freakish speed though and could throw everybody off by going to the front, throwing down decent fractions and then kicking on after taking advantage of that high cruising speed.
Following Little Mike, we have Tokei Halo at a 17/1 price tag while Grandeur has just been eased into 25/1 by most European bookmakers. Side Glance is also available at a 25/1 price tag while Blazing Speed is available at 33/1. Neatico is a 40/1 shot ahead of Rainbow Chich at 50/1 and Mizani at 66s. Same World is the longest shot on the board at 80/1.
