Shea Shea comes into the race as the 7/2 betting favourite with virtually every ante post market. Second to Sole Power in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, Mike De Kock’s South African-bred charge had a stellar season in Dubai capturing a listed contest over none other than Sole Power before coming right back and winning the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint with Christophe Soumillon up.
The loss at Ascot was only by a quarter of a length and Shea Shea went to the front a bit earlier than usual with his typical performance being a push on from mid division about 2-3 furlongs out. Making all could have been the deciding factor that took the race away from Shea Shea and he will be looking for revenge here against his counterpart as they duel for the third time in less than 6 months.
Sole Power is a hefty 10/1 to get the better of Shea Shea again this time and you do expect that match bet to be a fairly popular one across all bookmakers who offer that type of wagering.
The Group 3 Palace House Stakes was the first win of the season for Sole Power before getting beaten by Kingsgate Native next time out at Haydock Park in a Group 2 encounter.
