2013 St Leger Betting Preview and Tips Part 3
- By A.J. Ryder on August 28, 2013 21:10 GMTThere is a lot to like about his running style and he has the ability to make all off the lead or to track the leaders and kick on at just the right time. He has gone off as the favourite in both of those Group 3 encounters and there is a lot of room to move forward and you do like the way that he doesn’t have to rely on other runners to set up a specific pace.

Foundry is another talented Galileo entry owned by Coolmore and he’s got some excellent breeding - by Galileo out of a Dixieland Band mare who has produced several good runners. He finished second in the Group 2 Great Voltigeur stakes in his only his second effort. He has been raced twice and was able to capture his maiden at Leopardstown last year before returning August 21st to run second to the respected runner Telescope.
He kept on well in the final furlong last time out and it really showed much more maturity than you would expect from a runner who’s only actually been on track twice. The bookmakers have him floating at an 8/1 price tag right now in the ante post markets and you can expect him to kick on nicely here if he gets a good trip.
Libertarian is also trading as one of the main selections for this contest and ranks alongside Foundry at an 8/1 price tag. He didn’t run so well in the Irish Derby when he finished eighth from nine after finishing second in the Epsom Derby. With William Buick up both times, the Godolphin runner has a lot of talent to flash if he can get back to his best after capturing the Group 2 Dante Stakes at York.
Expect even more interesting swings in the ante post market as we get closer to the off of the 2013 St Leger at Doncaster.
