2014 Betfair Chase Betting Tips PT 3
- By A.J. Ryder on November 10, 2014 20:59 GMTHis effort this season to kick things off was a bit of a forgettable one - finishing well-beaten eight lengths off the pace at Wetherby in the Grade 2 Charlie Hall Chase. Menorah got the better of him that day with a great performance despite Silviniaco Conti being priced as the even money favourite.

Taquin Du Seuil is one of those horses whose price ranges anywhere between 7/1 to 12/1 depending on whom you’re wagering with. The 12/1 listing would definitely make him an each-way squeak for any punter who can see beyond the leading trio of contenders in the Betfair Hurdle.
Taquin Dy Seuil lines up for Jonjo O’Neill and has had two efforts so far this season - both of which lost - but he was a solid second place to Menorah in the Charlie Hall Chase. He won the JLT Novices’ Chase last season at Cheltenham and took a number of decent races as he worked his way up off the bottom of the novice chase circuit.
Holywell is another interesting shot and he can be had around 8/1 at most major bookmakers and he was only able to get third place in his seasonal debut, but finished last year’s season with tremendous confidence - taking all four races he endeavoured in 2014 up to that point. He raced in a Class 4 chase at Catterick to get a victory and then followed that up in a novice chase at Doncaster.
He then took a Grade 3 Handicap Chase at Cheltenham in March - besting 22 other contenders and delivering for punters at a respectable 10/1 price tag. He then followed that up with a Grade 1 novice chase victory at Aintree in the Mildmay Novices chase. A victory here isn’t totally out of the question but it’s going to take a lot out of him if he’s going to hit the board.
However, the confidence from punters is more than apparent on Holywell.
2013 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Bobs Worth is likely to line up for this one and, though he could only muster up a fifth place finish in last year’s iteration of the world championships of chasing, he did score a Grade 1 victory at Leopardstown around Christmas. Look for him to have a go at this one, despite finishing sixth in the race last year when sent off as the 15/8 favourite. He trades around 8/1.
