2014 King George VI Chase Ante Post Tips PT 3

He was on such a run when he initially was in-form that they will be hoping he finds himself feeling right at home in his days back on the racetrack.

Following the likes of Simonsig, we’re looking at the talented winner of the Amlin Chase in Al Ferof. He comes into the race with plenty of wagering momentum after turning things around with his seasonal debut. His price floats anywhere around 6/1 all the way up to 8/1 and it’s very likely that his comfortable seven length victory at Ascot will stand him in good stead for this contest.
It’s worth noting that he was a full fourteen lengths off the pace in 2013 when he went after the King George, finishing well behind Silviniaco Conti and disappointing those who backed him at 5/1. He had also used the Amlin as a prep that year and was able to beat out his solitary challenger French Opera.
The one that many seem to be fancying is Menorah and, though he was defeated by Silviniaco Conti in his last outing, he came awfully close at Haydock to only lose by a two length margin and his 10/1 listing made him popular with those backing him on the each-way. He got things off to a great start this year at Wetherby and he’ll be looking to continue moving forward here.
He was pulled up two from home last year and sent off at 16/1 but you reckon there will be plenty who think he’s ripe to finish the race and looks a much stronger horse than what we saw previously.
Menorah trades anywhere from 8/1 to 10/1.
