2015 Arlington Million Day Preview PT 2

In the Beverly D Stakes we have Wedding Vow listed as the outright favourite ahead of last year’s victory for Team Valor’s Euro Charline. Wedding Vow trades at around 13/8 as the favourite with most major bookmakers while Euro Charline can be backed from a margin of about 5/1 with several top bookmakers.

The best rated American contender in European ante post markets looks to be the venerable Stephanies Kitten, who lines up in the silks of owner/breeder Ken Ramsey who stands her stallion Kitten’s Joy. As it currently stands, she trades at a margin of about 5/1. 

Another key local contender is Watsdachances - who is easily one of the most accomplished runners in this race. Since shipping over to America a few years ago as a juvenile, she has put together a very nice body of work and seldom finishes outside of the top two finishers. With her current listing of 8/1 she looks like an absolute cinch to deliver some cash for punters here as this race looks wide open and if she gets a quality trip then she will more than likely be in the top 3 finishers in this major undercard race. 

The American St Leger is one of the longer races of the entire turf season in America and it looks like local favourite The Pizza Man is commanding the best price in this market but he is also co-entered for the Arlington Million itself so it will be interesting to see where he actually winds up. 

A similar move happened last year when Hardest Core was prompted to enter the Million instead of the St Leger after a few key withdrawals and it certainly paid off well for him on that day. The Pizza Man will take plenty of local money and you’ll find him here at an 11/4 margin while his closest competition appears to be Hyper and Roman Approval - who both trade at 3/1 margins.
