- By A.J. Ryder on March 9, 2015 17:57 GMTStill without a blemish on his form card after eight career races - he’s been able to put together a great volume of work including a smashing victory at Kempton on Boxing Day when he captured the Grade 1 Christmas Hurdle when sent off at a slim 4/11 price tag.

Hurricane Fly has been rolling back the years too - continuing his famous series against Jezki by getting the better of him in his first two efforts this year prior to taking the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown. Jezki returns this time but you get the feeling that Hurricane Fly will be pushing to go after Faugheen than his famous rival - who actually won the race last year and will be looking to put in another big performance this time around.
The OLBG Mares’ Hurdle is looking like it’s going to be all about Annie Power once again and that’s not a bad wager here despite the incredibly short price. The bookmakers will be enthusiastic about getting her beat but there isn’t a huge amount of talent set to take her on. Glens Melody trades anywhere from 4/1 to 6/1 while Polly Peachum trades at 7/1 anywhere up to 10/1.
The Amateur Riders National hunt Chase seems to be an interesting face off between two decent looking mounts - Very Wood who trades at about 7/2 for the most part, while Sego Success can be backed around 9/2 to 11/2.
The final contest of the day is the Barbados Novices’ Handicap and this is a tricky one but there is still some good form to work with and we will be opting for Leap Derg to make the step up and be a good each-way score with a price of around 20/1. He has won some decent handicap chases and will be a tough customer for the likes of Thomas Crapper who is expected to go off first here but he just hasn’t really won a lot recently and is a bet-against for us.
