2015 Cheltenham Thursday Betting Tips PT 1

The action came quickly on Ladies’ Day at the 2015 Cheltenham Festival as we had plenty of interesting selections come in and we also saw a lot of drama such as the potential finish of Sprinter Sacre’s career as he was pulled up by Barry Geraghty entering the straight.

Sprinter Sacre’s connections have told the media that he will be scoped and then decisions will be made on his future. Both Sprinter Sacre and Sire Dr Grugy (who was well-fancied as the first-choice spoiler) failed to mount anything resembling a genuine challenge as Dodging Bullets flew home and was also able to stave off the challenge of the well-regarded Somersby - who has seemingly been racing for decades now.

The general trend has been the shorter-priced horses getting the job done for the most part and we’ve seen plenty of layers in full-retreat at times. They would be hurting much worse had Annie Power not taken her famous fall at the last fence in the OLBG Mares Hurdle.

As the action switches over to the new course, we will be taking a look at the Thursday line-up and seeing how things are expected to shape up.

In the JLT Novices Chase we have the likes of Vautour looking to keep things rolling on with a steady stream of short-priced winners. He is trading around 2/1 or 7/4 at the moment and looks good value all things considered as the race has come up a bit weak.

Take a look at either Ptit Zig or Valseur Lido as the main spoilers with prices anywhere in the 9/2 range.
