2015 Diamond Jubilee Stakes PT 2
- By A.J. Ryder on June 19, 2015 18:36 GMTSheikh Hamdan has Mustajeeb looing as the considerable spoiler and he will be going second off the freshening here so a big run is expected from the four-year-old son of Nayef. He was able to score on his seasonal debut at The Curragh in a Group 2 contest against nine other contenders. He had to work for it but since he was sent off as the second favourite with a 4/1 price tag, he definitely made his backers happy when he hit the line a full length ahead of his nearest challenger Maarek.

One of the horses that finishes behind Mustajeeb that day was none other than Astaire, who also lines up in this race but looms a large outsider at 33s. One wonders how much form to take out of that Curragh race for Mustajeeb, but the fact remains that he is going to continue taking money.
Another one to keep your eye out for is Undrafted, who lines up for Wesley Ward and is owned by none other than NFL star Wes Welker. The horse is definitely being considered by some punters in this big Group 1 clash and you can back him right now a price of about 8/1. He’s been getting better with each run so far this year and this will be his third run since being freshened after a solid third place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.
He is also one of the few horses to ever go from Newmarket to Kentucky Downs in their next race as he raced at headquarters last year Darley July Cup, mustering up a solid fourth place performance when sent off at 25/1.
His running style looks like it will suit this race and if you can back him with European books you will likely get a much better price than the US punters betting on the American tote will get. Watch out for him to form a solid partnership with Frankie Dettori, who will be on him for his second time.
