2015 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes PT 1

One of the most exciting parts of the end of the flat season is the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes – one of the premier Group 1 races for two-year-old contenders and it often serves as a major ante post clue for the Classic season to unfold the following year. It's worth keeping your eyes on the entries for this race during the two-year-old campaigns as well since it can often show you who is highly-touted and who the owners and trainers think can actually go on and etch their names into some of thoroughbred racing's folklore.

There is a lot to like about this year's iteration of the race and we have some very talented, albeit lightly-raced, selections lining up and commanding a good portion of the attention for this big contest at Newmarket.

The top-rated contender is Godolphin's Emotionless – a Shamardal colt out of the Unbridled's Song mare Unbridled Elaine. This one has the backing of a very solid Group 2 victory to his credit already and the talented bay was able to grab the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last week over Ibn Malik when sent off as the 8/13 post time favourite. He wound up triumphing in the race by a full three and a half lengths over a relatively solid field of six.

He boasts a win at Newmarket already having taken his maiden score there against a very solid group of competitive debutantes. He was sent off as the 6/4 favourite against a field of eleven which shows you tha he was respected from the start. He has forged a good partnership with William Buick so far and will be looking to stamp his impression on the big race at Newmarket here in just under a month's time.

Emotionless can be spotted in the ante post markets anywhere from 11/10 all the up to a 6/4 margin with a few books offering up prices in between.
